Cushing Celebrates 90 Years in Business
– Family-owned display graphics firm reaches company milestone this Fall –

Chicago, IL – October 30, 2019 –Cushing, a creative print and display graphics firm, celebrates their 90th anniversary in October 2019. Cushing opened its doors in October 1929, just days before the stock market crashed, sending the nation into The Great Depression. The company persevered and has served the Chicagoland business community ever since.
Founder F. John Cushing Sr. purchased the company (formerly known as National Blueprint Co.) and began to rebrand and rebuild as a blueprint shop serving Chicago’s architecture and engineering firms. Through the years, Cushing focused on coating diazo paper, placed the first manned, on-site printing center in Chicago, and became the first reprographics company in the city to add color imaging to their list of services.
In recent years, Cushing has evolved to include various color graphics solutions for their growing client base. Cushing is certified both nationally and with the City of Chicago as a Women-owned Business Enterprise, led by president Cathleen Cushing Duff. The company is a founder and active member of the RMX Network (formerly ReproMAX), a group of digital print service providers nationwide and overseas.
As Cushing enters its ninetieth year of business, the company continues to grow, adapt to market changes, and create a culture that inspires leadership. To achieve this milestone, Cushing credits their outstanding employees (many of whom have been with the company fifteen years or more), vendors and loyal customers.
