Cushing’s one man shipping department, Mark’s duties include shipping all outgoing packages, signing for and accepting all incoming deliveries and distributing them to the appropriate person or department, monitoring internal emails for correspondences regarding price quotes, estimating times of delivery, and keeping track of proof of delivery (date, time, and signature) once a package has been delivered. Needless to say, he keeps busy!
What is your favorite part of working at Cushing?
The work and my teammates. I love my job, and it’s great to see everyone happily giving 100% from the newest employee all the way up to the owners.
What is your favorite type of music?
I listen to a variety of music from Gospel to dusties, to R&B and rap. It depends on my mood. I tried to get into country but just couldn’t vibe with it. My favorite band by far is Earth, Wind & Fire.
Are there any specific or special skills you use during the course of the week?
Customer Service (that’s a given). Also, being a one man department, it’s very important to be able to multi-task and prioritize. 4 or 5 people can come to me at once with questions or instructions, then right after they leave, another 3 or 4 could arise, so I’m constantly juggling instructions in my mind and prioritizing what needs to be done right away, what next, and so on.
