Gameplan Creative, LLC is a CLIO sports award-winning branding agency with a reputation of providing innovative creative identity solutions. From ushering in the Golden Age of NBA Identity Systems in the 1990s to leaving today’s stadium fans breathless with eye-popping state-of-the-art video board and LED animations, their creative solutions have revolutionized sports design and are considered by many to be industry best practices.
On the market for a graphics solutions provider for current and future projects, Gameplan Creative came across Cushing. Located just blocks away from Gameplan’s River North office headquarters, Tom O’Grady, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, and his team stopped in to learn more about the array of services Cushing provides. Previously VP, Global Creative Director for the National Basketball Association, O’Grady was looking to partner with a company as detail-oriented as he is.
“We initially sent a small job to Cushing to assess if they would be able to meet our high quality standards and price their work competitively. We were very pleased with the outcome and have worked with Cushing on a series of different projects (including event signage, wall graphics, oversized banners, flyers and roll up banners) ever since,” says O’Grady.
A partnership with Saint Ignatius College Prep brought Gameplan Creative to Cushing once again. SICP needed locker room graphics for the Saint Ignatius WolfPack Hockey Club (who plays out of recently constructed MB Ice Arena). They needed team graphics to brand the space and boost morale before games.
They designed a series of bold, over-sized graphics, completed the final electronic files and reviewed with the team at Cushing.
After extensive site surveys and some back and forth questions and adjustments, the Cushing team got to work producing graphics that would fulfill Gameplan Creative’s vision for the space. “Cushing provided a clear plan of how they wanted to execute the project and executed without any on the fly changes or deviations from the original plan,” said O’Grady.
Several graphics were installed in the locker room space. Wall graphics including inspirational quotes and the school’s logo are displayed above players’ shared space. A door graphic depicting the school’s front gate gives players a taste of their home turf from a mile away.
“The end result was excellent,” says O’Grady, “Our client was very pleased with the final outcome and the overall graphics and installation went very smoothly.”
“We were very satisfied with the attention to our project and the confidentiality to the high-profile nature of assignment. Cushing met our timelines and expectations on installation days. After successfully working with Cushing, we felt comfortable recommending our long-time client, Major League Baseball to reach out to their team when the league was looking for a series of print design services for both their Postseason and World Series events at Wrigley Field in Chicago.”
As a sports branding agency, having the chance to provide environmental graphics to clients and partners helps increase business for Gameplan Creative.
