Baiting the Hook

With Facebook clamping down on Clickbait, we thought it would be fun to come up with examples you would see to promote a printing company.
Of course, we have never used any of these (here’s a take on the classics we stumbled across and had to share) – so we felt it could be a fun way to talk about our industry.
What’s Clickbait?
All those hard-to-resist headlines that pop up on social media, you know – top 10 tips to keep your teeth white, Trainer’s Hate Him (or Her), This one Trick will Help You live to Eternity etc – they are designed to get you to click and rocket your way to the limitless corners of cyberspace. Huh? Just kidding, chances are you are heading toward a sales pitch.
PBS ponders how it will be the death of journalism.
You might even be one of the many people who say they don’t ever click those enticing clickbait links (sure….). Wired Magazize has written a very interesting article on the psychology of the tactics and we we just can’t resist.
(DISCLAIMER: all are completely fake and Cushing has never used clickbait to drive traffic to our website, Facebook fan page etc.).
Anyway, we thought it could be fun to come up with clickbait headlines around printing.
Without further ado, here are some we probably would have rolled out there (you know, if the largest social media behemoth wasn’t cracking down on it):
The Avoid Disaster Article
Unlock the Secrets of the Universe
Who Doesn’t Love Controversy?
For History Buffs? (or Conspiracy Theorists … ?)
Nope, this one is for Conspiracy Theorists
Ommmmm (our new Indigo Press is making that sound, not meditation)
Close Encounters of The Third Print Ready File
Hilarity Ensues
OK, enough of this silliness!
Although, we would love to get your feedback in the comments below! AND ideas for the next Clickbait article…
